Documentary collection is the payment of a commercial transaction after the banks of both parties have exchanged the required documents.
The bank of the exporter of the goods or services collects the funds from the importer's bank in exchange for documents confirming the transfer of ownership of the goods shipped.

Export collection
When your company uses export documentary collections, the documents are handed over to your buyer only after the due amount has been paid or the signature of a payment agreement on a specified date.
Import collection
When your company uses import documentary collection, the documents are only released to your company after payment of the due amount or upon signature of a payment agreement on a specified date.
